The documentary Dynasties is worth-watching.
The crew spent eight months shooting the story of Emperor Penguins at Atka Bay, showing us how penguins raise the next generation, take turns to look after their babies and cooperate with each other to get through the blizzard. One of a memorable scene for me is when a huddle of penguin mothers are tumbled into a ravine in the ice with their baby penguins. Some mother penguins choose to abandon their chicks for saving themselves, while the others try to climb up with her beak and wings. We couldn't blame the former for making this decision, but the latter is extremely admirable. I guess if I were the penguin mother, I wouldn’t give up until the last moment since I had done so much and finally give birth to a baby penguin. I couldn’t ruin all my effort without giving it a try. I am not sure whether penguins get emotions or not, but it’s the instinct that mothers are supposed to protect their babies. After watching this documentary, I was stunned by either the hardship they went through or the marvel of life. I started to respect every kind of species in the world, for their making lots of effort to survive. What's more, we can learn precious lessons for the animals, such as penguins cooperate to go through the blizzard, we may apply this to our life like working together to face the obstacles. In the end, the video informs us that, if the situation of global warming continuously getting worse, the Penguins might not get places even chances to breed their next generation. Therefore I want to take action to protect these animals by saving energy or our next generation will never have a chance to witness such a miracle.
